01 - biography

Vi Hoang is a Vietnamese-Canadian new media artist and creative technologist based in Montréal. Working across digital media, interactive installation, and audiovisual art, her practice explores relationships between technology, the body, memory, identity, and cultural experience. She is interested in the ways technology can become intimate, ritualistic, and strangely human.

Her work often combines digital and physical materials, bringing together software, electronics, 3D environments, sound, and found objects to create spaces that feel both familiar and uncanny. Drawing from Vietnamese culture, personal memory, spirituality, and contemporary digital life, she explores the tension between the organic and the technological, and between the things we use and the things that shape us.
