there are wires everywhere, still i kneel

2026PerformanceSolo project

'there are wires everywhere, still i kneel' explores the intimate and ritual relationship between humans and machines. The installation takes the form of an altar made from black plinths covered in exposed recycled wires, with wires extending across the floor and hanging from the ceiling around me as I kneel in a posture similar to prayer. A hand wearable is equipped with a sensor that detects temperature and humidity as I breathe into my hands, offering warmth to the system and activating visuals and sound in response. This exchange creates a symbiotic relationship between body and machine while reflecting on “divine machinery” and the ways technology can feel powerful or mysterious when we do not fully understand it. The exposed and recycled wires reveal the physical systems and material waste usually hidden inside our devices.
